Paramekkavu Bhagavati Temple | Key player of the Thrissur Pooram | Sneak-peek at the daily rituals

Dedicated to Goddess Durga, Paramekkavu Bhagavati Temple, is one of the most renowned Bhagavati temples of Kerala. It is situated on the round east road in Thrissur. It plays a vital role in the Thrissur Pooram, which is one of the biggest festivals in South India. Sri Sakthan Thampuran ordained the temples into two groups, namely "Paramekkavu side" and "Thiruvambady side" for Thrissur Pooram. These two groups are headed by the principal participants, Paramekkavu Bhagavati Temple at Thrissur Swaraj Round and Thiruvambadi Sri Krishna Temple at Shoranur road.
